STAY SAFE – SHOP LOCAL

 

A group has been set up by Carmarthen Town Council to make sure that the town is ready for the safe return of shoppers and visitors as soon as Welsh Government allows this to happen. The group, consisting of Carmarthen Town Council, representatives of the Chamber of Trade, BID, Carmarthen Market, Carmarthen Round Table and Carmarthenshire County Council. It meets via video link every Friday morning.

 

KEY DATE

The next announcement by the First Minister Mark Drakeford is due to take place on 18th June, and we are expecting important news about when more shops and businesses will be able to open.

MERLIN’S WALK SHOPPING & St CATHERINE’S WALK SHOPPING:

Claire Kirkham claire.kirkham@merlinswalk.com and John Nash CentreManager@stcatherineswalk.com  have  been working with all businesses, and preparations are well advanced for re-opening the shops.

RISK ASSESSMENTS & HEALTH & SAFETY

It is every business’s own responsibility to make sure that their premises are safe and fully compliant with national rules before re-opening.

KEY POINTS:

1 Ventilation – make sure this is as good as it can be

2 Hygiene – soap and water or sanitising gel should be readily available

3 Social Distancing of 2 meters is required at all times, inside and outside shops and business premises

4 Handling Cash – you will need procedures in place to facilitate the safe handling of cash with customers

FACE VISORS

Carmarthen Town Council is providing up to four face visors produced locally for local businesses and shops that need them for their staff. Please contact ajharries@carmarthentowncouncil.gov.uk if you require any.

 

HANGING BASKETS

Carmarthen Town Council is providing hanging baskets free of charge this summer to all those businesses who supported the scheme last year, and these have already started going up.
